Ranger Job Quest

This Quest locks exp gain past level 60. Do not hand in any other quests while this quest is active for you will not receive any exp for that quest.
The Ranger job change is divided into four parts, each part requiring a specific task to be performed successfully to reach the next part.
Warning: Should you De-Level during the second job change quest at any point, you must Re-Level to Level 60 before you can continue the quest.

Quest : Hynan's Successor -Ranger-

Quest Requirement : Level 60, in the Acrobat class. Assigned high level weapon is the Bows.
Objective : Kill Rubo and collect his Letter of Hynan (DO NOT DISCARD). Deliver it to Kimel

Quest Text:
- "A bow is an amazing tool. Isn’t the sight of an arrow splitting through the air a pretty sight? An arrow is different from a sword or a staff in that it comes from nature and goes back into nature. This is what the first Hero Ranger, Hynan, taught us. The piercing of an arrow is not to kill an enemy. It is a defense mechanism to create distance from an incoming enemy. However, we borrow nature’s power to create a fire arrow, ice arrow, or an arrow that pours down like rain. Do you want to inherit our Hero Hynan's techniques so you can use them? Than you must go find Rubo and retrieve Hynan’s letter. The will of Hynan is in this letter. Once you find the letter, go find the Ranger Sage Kimel and he will lead you on the path to becoming a Ranger."
Accepting Quest Text:
- "Rubo is around Darkon somewhere so it should be easy to find him. You must retrieve Hynan’s letter from Rubo and bring it to Kimel."
Denying Quest Text:
- "You should choose a different path if you do not believe in the teachings of Hynan."
During Quest Text:
- "Did you find Hynan’s letter from Rubo? Alright, hurry and go find the Ranger Sage, Kimel."
Completed Quest Text:
- "It looks like you want to follow in Hynan’s footsteps, since you found Hynan’s letter.."

- "Did you read the contents of the letter? It tells you of the mindset and attributes a Jester requires. A ranger needs to be quick and agile, but the mind and heart must be light and quick too. I need make sure you understand the teachings of Hynan. Go to the Garden of Rhisis and destroy 10 Scorpicons. If you complete this task, it will show that you understand the teachings of Hynan."
Accepting Quest Text:
- "It’s good to see that you are confident. Well then, I will hope you return safely. Go to the Garden of Rhisis and destroy 10 Scorpicons, then return to me."
Denying Quest Text:
- "As I suspected, you only can talk the teachings of Hynan. There is no action behind your words."
During Quest Text:
- "Although Scorpicons were born in nature, through greed these creatures mutated. Go and send these creatures back into nature with the teachings of Hynan."

- "So you laid the Scorpicons to rest. You did a very good job."

- "You have the ability to be the successor to Hynan, but I don’t have the power to finalize that. The person that does that is the priest. Go find the Ranger Priest, Rupim. Rupim will see right away the ability you possess. You are asking me if this is another test? Do not worry. I will give you this Mark of Hero and the priest will approve of you right away. The Ranger Priest Rupim will be located at the Ranger Altar in Aniceknight in Darkon 3. I hope you get approval from her and become a great Ranger like Hynan."

- "Rupim is a very strict Priest who is in search for Hynan’s successor. Go to Aniceknight in Darkon 3 and find her."
Denying Quest Text:
- "Did you change your mind? Well I guess there is nothing I can do. You shouldn't talk the talk if you won't walk the walk."
During Quest Text:
- "If you want to be a Ranger, go to Aniceknight in Darkon 3 and get the approval of Ranger Priest Rupim."
Completed Quest Text:
- "This is the Mark of Hero showing that you are qualified to be a Ranger. A Rangers path is as dangerous as flying through a thick forest. Do you still wish to follow this path?"
Ranger Guardian -Succession-

Quest : Ranger Guardian -Succession-
NPC : (Ranger Priest) Rupim
Quest Requirement : Level 60, completion of previous stage.
Objective : Defeat the Venel Guardian and obtain its heart. Take heart to (Ranger Guardian) Kailreard.

Quest Text:
- "So you are positive. Alright then. I feel the power of Hynan coming from you. I believe you and will now lead you. In order to become a Ranger, you need the blessings from the Ranger Guardian. However, in order to receive her blessings, you must complete one more task. You must slay the Venel Guardian in Guardiane and take its heart to her. Can you do this?"
Accepting Quest Text:
- "The Venel Guardian is located in the room of the Guardian in the south part of Darkon 3. In order to complete the ritual, you need to take his heart and bring it to Kailreard in Guardiane."
Denying Quest Text:
- "I see you’ve heard the rumors about the Venel Guardian. No ordinary Acrobat can take him down, only one with special power and strength. I must have judged wrongly about you."
During Quest Text:
