Ultimate weapons
From FlyFF WIki
Ultimate weapons, introduced in Version 9 of FlyFF, are the most powerful weapons in the game. Ultimate weapons do not drop from any monsters, they must be refined from fully upgraded Unique weapons.

Upgrading to Ultimate
Important Note: Ultimate upgrading can destroy your weapon if it fails! Using a Scroll of XProtect before attempting the upgrade will prevent the weapon from breaking if the upgrade fails.
Only Unique weapons (weapons with a green name) can be upgraded into Ultimate weapons. A weapon must first be upgraded to +10 before it can be upgraded to Ultimate. Once you have a Unique weapon +10, bring that weapon to (Upgrade Specialist) BoBoChan in Flarine. When talking to him, select "Ultimate Upgrade", and the Ultimate Upgrade window will appear. You will see three spaces to place items into the window. The middle space is for the weapon, the left space is for one Shining Oricalkum, and the right space is for one jewel. The type of jewel necessary for an Ultimate upgrade depends on the type of Unique weapon being upgraded.
Unique Weapon Type | Jewel Needed |
---|---|
Guardian Weapon (Lv.60) | Topaz |
Historic Weapon (Lv.75) | Ruby |
Angels Weapon (Lv.90) | Sapphire |
Legendary Golden Weapon (Lv.105) | Emerald |
Bloody Weapon (Lv.120) | Diamond |
Once the three necessary items have been placed into the window, click the Start button. If the upgrade is successful, the weapon will now be an Ultimate version of the weapon you placed in the window. If the upgrade fails, everything in the window will be lost, including the weapon. (Note: Using a Scroll of XProtect before attempting the upgrade will prevent the weapon from being destroyed in the case of a failure.)
Ultimate Weapon Upgrading
Ultimate Upgrading Tools
Shining Oricalkum: Used for ultimate upgrading from +1 to +10 and creating unique weapons.
Scroll of XProtect: Used to protect your unique weapon from breaking if a conversion from unique to ultimate fails. Also to protect your ultimate weapon from breaking if a general upgrade (non-elemental) fails.
Safe Upgrade option
Newly introduced in V14 update, this quick, easy and safe way to upgrade your equipment, is a nice edition to upgrading options. Simply select Safe Upgrade from (Upgrade Specialist) BoBoChan's drop down menu and the upgrading window will open. First add your item for upgrading into the appropriate slot, then select the level desired. (If you want max level do not change the number.) Then to add upgrading materials simply double click for 1 at a time entry or press "Shift" button and double click for auto fill. This option will fill all 10 slots at once.
Note the if you do not have enough Scroll of XProtect the system will stop when you run out of Scroll of XProtect. System will not attempt upgrade without scroll present.
How-To Old Stlye
Ultimate upgrading is very similar to general upgrading except a Scroll of XProtect is used to protect your item from breaking.
- Make sure the weapon that is being upgraded is not in use.
- Double-click on the Shining Oricalkum. Once this is done, a hammer and anvil show up above the head. This shows that you have a Shining Oricalkum in use. (Reminder: If you wish to use an XProtect to keep your weapon safe while upgrading. You will first need to activate the XProtect before doing the upgrade.)
- Click on the weapon that you wish to upgrade.
- In your inventory, after you click on it, it will show the item as flashing with green lines. This shows that you are upgrading the weapon.
- After waiting a couple of seconds, it will tell you if the process was a success or a failure. (If you are not using an XProtect, failure can lead to your weapon being destroyed.)
Jewel Creation
- Go to (Jewel Manager) Peach in central Flarine.
- Select the "Create Jewels" option from (Jewel Manager) Peach.
- Insert a weapon (with a level 60 or higher requirement) to create a jewel.
- Weapons that are upgraded between +0 and +4 will have a lower chance of success with a smaller amount being created. (A Fellpeed Axe+4 will have a much better chance of creating jewels than a Fellpeed Axe+2)
- If a weapon is upgraded to +5 or higher, it will have a 100% chance of turning into a jewel.
Possible Jewel Creation
When creating jewels, you have a chance of creating more than one from a higher upgraded weapon. This table shows how much you can get from the higher the upgrade.

Ultimate Weapon Piercing(Socket Jewels)
Ultimate weapons can be set with jewels for additional attributes once upgraded high enough. Pierced Sockets will automatically appear in the weapon once the correct upgrade level is reached. The number of sockets available is as follows:
Upgrade Level | Number of Sockets |
---|---|
Ultimate +1 ~ +5 | 0 Sockets Available |
Ultimate +6 | 1 Socket Available |
Ultimate +7 | 2 Sockets Available |
Ultimate +8 | 3 Sockets Available |
Ultimate +9 | 4 Sockets Available |
Ultimate +10 | 5 Sockets Available |
Placing jewels in these sockets requires visiting (Jewel Manager) Peach in Flarine again. When talking to her, select "Jewel Setting" from the menu, and the Jewel Setting window will appear. Place the Ultimate weapon in the main area of the window, and then a jewel in the first available slot on the right side of the window. Once you have placed the weapon and a jewel into the window, click the Start button.
Jewel Composing
Jewel setting is possible with an Ultimate Weapons that has been upgraded to +6 or higher. If it succeeds the weapon will get 1 out of 9 possible attributes. There is an added stat bonus if you succeed in setting the same attribute twice or more. If the setting fails, only the jewel is lost. (The most recently set jewel can be removed by using a Moonstone
Jewel Stat bonuses
The following table lists the bonuses that can appear on Ultimate weapons when jewels are placed into the sockets. If you pierce the same type of jewel with the same type of bonus multiple times, the effect increases for each additional jewel of that type with that stat added.

Removing Socketed Jewels
A jewel that has already been placed into a socket in an Ultimate weapon can be removed if you are not happy with the bonus given. To remove the last jewel added, you will need a Moonstone. Talk to bobochan and select the remove jewel setting option, the most recently added jewel will be removed from the weapon. Removing a socketed jewel can not fail, and will not destroy the weapon.
Additional Notes
- Ultimate weapons may be pierced for socket cards.
- Ultimate weapons carry the same level requirement they had before being upgraded to Ultimate.
- Ultimate weapons carry all the same stat bonuses they had before being upgraded to Ultimate.
- Ultimate Bows can only be used by Rangers.
- Ultimate Yo-Yos can only be used by Jesters.
